Week 2: Bo claws one back (sort of)
Two weeks in, and I'm pleased to report the recovery has begun. Eighty points this week — up from last week's shameful 60 — which is progress, even if it only hauled me to a gloriously mid-table joint 24th on the day. Rome wasn't built in a week, folks.
The round itself belongs to BBC pundit Sutton with160 points, a haul big enough to fling him all the way up to joint third overall. Not a bad fortnight's work. Spare a thought, meanwhile, for last week's oracle MOTALAW1964, who followed up his Hull heroics with a very human 60. That's the beautiful cruelty of this game: prophet one week, back in the pack the next.
At the top of the table, simongibson26 and Sprocket are setting the pace on 250 apiece — but don't take your eyes off OrchardEd. The defending champion is sitting joint fifth on 210, close enough to smell the leaders and exactly where a champion likes to lurk before he makes his move. Joel, naturally, is still ahead of me. We don't talk about that.
Thirty-six weeks to run. The table's taking shape, the pretenders are being found out, and Bo is — slowly, painfully — climbing back toward respectability.
Can you beat Bo? This week, most of you still did.
